Union Gospel Mission

When you think of the Union Gospel Mission, chances are you think of food, shelter and clothing for the homeless, but did you know that UGM operates four shelters – one for men and three for women and children – as well as three long-term recovery programs, a camp for underprivileged children, two thrift stores and an automotive enterprise? UGM is committed to breaking the cycle of homelessness by addressing its underlying causes. Case management and recovery programs are shaped around an individualized approach to the whole person: body, mind and spirit. GED prep, job training, life skills classes and counseling are all provided, as well as free medical, eye, vet and legal services. The YMCA has proven to be a great community partner – providing not only a corporate membership option to UGM employees but discounted passes for participants in Women’s Recovery at Anna Ogden Hall, as well.
